Our member artists support each other, lift each other up, and work together to share and educate about Indigenous history, story, and culture.

Cinnamon Kills First is a published author, documentary filmmaker, and traditional beadworker. As a word warrior, she is dedicated to facing hard truths in order to bring about change. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Cinnamon is Northern Cheyenne and currently lives in Chinook territory, where she owns and operates Northside Advocacy LLC.

Dawson Davenport is a member of the Meskwaki Nation. He is a 2019 graduate of the University of Iowa art program. He is an artist, a published author, an educator, and a public speaker. He creates video and podcast content aimed at raising awareness of issues facing Indigenous peoples and celebrating Indigenous cultures. He also designs clothing under the brand Daepian Apparel. One of his proudest accomplishments is being a father.

Dawson Davenport

Talon Ducheneaux, a.k.a. Bazille, is a rap artist and poet from the Crow Creek Dakota and Cheyenne River Lakota tribes in South Dakota. An alum of the University of Pennsylvania, Bazille’s work largely stems from an amalgamation of experiences and reflections that influence his sound. He also is the head of Wonahun Was’te’ Studios, a free recording studio in the Crow Creek area. The studio was recently supported/funded in 2019 by a Cultural Capital Fellowship from the First People’s Fund when Bazille. In collaboration with DCM Collective, Panoramic Dreams, and First Peoples Fund, Bazille is currently anticipating his next album, a three-part project titled Traveling the Multiverse with Iktomi. Talon is currently performing his album across the country, recently at the Kennedy Center’s We the Peoples Before" event. CONTACT ARTIST
